Did some cleanup on a Kishu Shimpaku today-not the time of year to do major pruning on junipers, but it's ok to trim downward growth. Minimal is best, and thats pretty much what I did. Also removed the wire as it was starting to mark the trunk and a couple branches. It was wired in early April, so 6 months went by-my wiring needs perfecting, or it could have stayed on longer. Heres a picture of it in April, then this morning, then once work was completed.
